The Frost Science Museum in Miami is absolutely amazing! It’s huge and packed with fascinating exhibits for all ages. From the planetarium and aquarium to the hands-on science displays, there’s something exciting around every corner.

Frustrating Donation Experience - Seeking Community Advice.
I've had a very frustrating experience attempting to donate a book to the Perez Art Museum. This book is a biography and comprehensive work about the life and art of the late painter, Ethyl Gilmore.
All my efforts to gift this book to the museum have been met with complete silence. I have reached out to the museum multiple times:
Email (three Attempts): I have sent multiple detailed emails outlining the book and its significance, requesting information on the donation process. I have received no response.
Phone Calls (Two Attempts): On two separate occasions, I called the museum directly. Each time, I was told to send an email, which I had already done.
I'm at a loss. I've been holding onto this book, wanting to honor Ethyl Gilmore's work, but I'm consistently met with a wall of non-communication.
Therefore, I'm reaching out to the community:
Has anyone successfully donated a book or similar item to the Perez Art Museum?
If so, what was the process like?
Do you have any advice on how to proceed?

The palm trees, soft sand beach made it a picture perfect experience! We saw iguanas and lots of birds. A word of caution, we saw many jellyfish washed ashore in the dried seaweed. I absolutely loved this place. I purchased my tickets the night before because I heard this place gets packed. I'm very happy I did because when I got there at noon on a Saturday it had already reached capacity.
Parking is a little tricky because of how packed it gets. I had to circle around a few times before I found a spot.
Once inside I was taken away by how beautiful and clear the water was. Word of advice: wear the life jacket if you're not a strong swimmer. The pool is super deep in some areas. However there are more than enough lifeguards standing by at all times.
The seating areas get taken quickly so try to arrive early. Also the concession area is currently being remodeled so take your own snacks and drinks.

I went for my 1 year anniversary and my experience was unforgettable. VIP was pricey but it was well worth it and we had an incredible time.

My bestie and I loved walking around discovering the unique displays in this World of Enchantment. The colors are so vibrant and striking! We thoroughly enjoyed how we were outside in nature seeing these structures amongst the living trees; finding lizards warming themselves on the lanterns was a treat! I recently visited Jungle Island for the Luminosa event, and while it was enjoyable, it felt a bit underwhelming. The lantern displays were beautiful, but the event’s layout was unclear—I wasn’t sure if I missed part of it or if it was just smaller than expected. More signage or guidance would have really helped enhance the experience. Since it was nighttime, I didn’t see many animals aside from a few birds and a turtle. On the plus side, parking was easy in the garage, though it costs $20. We visited Jungle Island on two previous occasions to Miami when my son was younger and loved the park. The interaction with the birds alone makes this place a must visit, especially if you have young children.

The seaquarium is a place you can go with family and friends. We had a pretty good time there. I recommend buying the tickets online to avoid the line, also you could find discounts in some apps if you have time to call for reservations beforehand. Il y a des casiers à l’intérieur pour mettre vos achats. Petite boutique et wc à l’intérieur.
Le musée dévoile ses oeuvres sur trois étages (ascenseur et escalier) et dans le petit jardin.

2/4/25–After my ridiculously tiny breakfast at La Ventana Cuban restaurant (seriously, why do I even bother?), I decided to take a small walk to check out the spot I always gaze at while sailing in and out of that canal on cruise ships—something I’ve been doing for years.
Well, that small walk somehow turned into an almost two-hour adventure, which, of course, included a detour through the mall (because why not?). The pier was lovely—lined with restaurants and featuring the biggest marina I’ve seen so far. Walking to the bridge was a pleasant experience, with a clean path and great views.

Nice museum, but we were expecting much more given the very large space. Could be better organized and have more exhibits, not just pictures though the pictures they had were quite interesting.
The museum has very limited hours, so if you have a real job, weekends will probably be the only time you can go. We went on a Sunday in July and it was not crowded at all.
If you live locally, I would recommend visiting with free ticket tickets which you can get at the Miami-Dade Public Library. If you are visiting from out of town, and have limited time, I would recommend prioritizing other museums and places over this one.
One note, there are quite a few homeless people and those who appear to be on drugs in the area, but not anything like you might find in LA or other cities, and they can largely be avoided by simply walking around them. These are words that may describe the feelings you get when you step foot on a truly magnificent display of a time where anything but was prevalent. In honoring the many lives lost during the Holocaust, this paradigmatic memorial does a great job displaying emotion of horrors that were the reality to many unfortunate souls. There is a wall with the names of the people that were snuffed out of existence by some of the most inhumane ways an individual should never have to succumb to. The extended arm sculpture in the middle of the memorial's path, surrounded by very still dark water. It is melded from forearm to wrist with an amazing attention to detail as well as undefined fear and sorrow to end with an out stretched hand, grasping for what is not there. There is a back walkway that depicts some truly sobering moments of life in a kill camp and the hopelessness that still did not break the strong will of the ones sent there.
This is a place you should definitely stop by and check out, regardless of what denomination you are. I feel like this is a hidden gem of south beach that hides in plain sight. We had such a fantastic time at the Jewish Museum of Florida. It really exceeded our expectations. It was a privilege to learn from the docent there, Harry. He was extremely knowledgeable about Jewish history and happy to answer our questions. I’ve never had such a personalized tour at any museum like that before. We went to see La La Land with a live 50-piece orchestra, and it was absolutely magical. They played the entire score live while the full movie played on screen, and it added so much depth and emotion to an already beautiful film. Justin Hurwitz (the actual composer!) was there conducting, and he was phenomenal. Truly a genius.
Our seats were pretty high up, but they turned out to be perfect—we had this awesome aerial view of the orchestra, and seeing them perform everything live was unreal. Highly recommend those upper-level seats if you want to really take it all in!
The music, the energy, the emotion—it was beautiful. We crode. I heard sniffles all around the theater (which lowkey made it even better, haha).

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Miami City Ballet's performance of "The Nutcracker" for a friend's birthday, and overall, it was a delightful experience. This meant that if I wanted a drink or snack, I had to make the trek all the way down to the bottom of the venue, which was quite a hassle during intermission. It would have been much more convenient if there had been food and drink options available on each level.
Despite these minor issues, the beauty of the performance and the talent of the dancers far outweighed any discomfort. I would highly recommend seeing the Miami City Ballet's "The Nutcracker" to anyone looking for a festive outing. Just be prepared for the seating situation and the logistics of grabbing a snack! Purchased tickets to Hamilton for date night. Parking was a little wild. Drove around 4 times before someone was kind enough to guide us to one of their parking lots. We went to the Miami City Ballet to see Swan Lake. We have seen the Russian and Moscow Ballets, and this ballet was by far much better. Really cool collection! The front desk employee was super helpful and thorough.. There were three different collections when we visited. They seemed rather random in relation to each other but all were really interesting and we definitely enjoyed the experience. One of my favorite pieces was the phallic sculpture that was in A Clockwork Orange film!
The only off putting thing was that there was a private security room upstairs in the midst of the collections. An employee in the room was blasting music extremely loud and also singing along with it super loud and crazy. It was pretty strange and did interfere with the atmosphere of enjoying the collections.
The price of admission is $20/person, which I feel is a little steep for the type of collections they had. But I do understand that museums are not huge money makers and I'm sure they are even more challenged with pandemic so we were fine to pay that much.

Superblue is a very cool interactive museum in Miami. We spent hours roaming each section! Once you leave a section you can’t go back, so you want to really soak it in! It was gorgeous and really powerful! It’s focused on nature and immersing yourself right into it in a digital arena. My bf and I totally enjoyed it and would highly recommend it! There were two or three interactive exhibits that react to user movement or inputs. The 15-minute visual demo on the first floor was also quite a trippy experience (especially when viewed whilst standing up). The place is not big and could be walked through in less than half an hour, but we spent a decent hour or so here as it’s a great place for photos. Overall a whimsical experience and would recommend! We had a wonderful experience here. We were greeted in a very friendly, welcoming manner. We had purchased tickets I'm advance, which I recommend doing. One of the most cutting edge museums I’ve been to. Also at a great price point at around 20-25 per person. We spent about an hour here on both floors. Some of the pieces were interactive where the sensors would capture movement and change color or move accordingly which was cool. What I would like to review is the Art of the Brick which is a masterful display of Lego art exhibited in the Olympia Theater in downtown Miami. It is a an exhibit well worth experiencing. Absolutely gorgeous structure and an architectural gem. We went for a Lego art event and the theater was successfully transformed into an art gallery,. complete with clean white walls and excellent lighting. However, you could still see the original plaster walls, original light fixtures and original tile work along with the archways and stairways, making this an amazing building to see and experience independent of whatever event is being held. I would really enjoy seeing some musical events here, or movies. The vibe is fantastic. I attended one of the Van Gogh experience shows here. The show itself was enjoyable, and while I actually enjoyed one of the competing shows better this one was still fun. My favorite part was big room with the moving images on the wall and floor. It was nice to just sit down and be immersed in the artwork and story.
As for the theatre, this is one of those old art-deco theatres that was probably exceptionally beautiful in its prime. It's also located in what sure seems a pretty sketchy area now, surrounded by closed and boarded stores up and down the street. Time and age have not been kind, as the plasterwork is showing signs of decay along the walls and by powder on the floors. I snuck up the stairs to see the scope of the theatre, and it doesn't look like it sees much use. Piles of inventory in stairwells, aisles full of old seats. Maybe this was moved out of the way for the current show; maybe not. Experienced the Van Gogh immersive at Olympia and kept thinking how gorgeous the theater building itself is. The stucco and the intricate work you see on the ceilings is delicate and gives the feel of Spanish and French arts. Ceilings, because everything else remains hidden behind the installations- sometimes Van Gogh, and sometimes something else. The light fixtures are gorgeous and if the installations are removed, it would add to the charm of the place. This is a great little botanical garden to visit for a morning activity. We got there with an uber, currently there is roadwork near Coconut Grove. There is a button to press at the entrance, and staff would let you in. They operate on a reservation only basis, but we got there without any reservations. You walk to the office to pay the entrance fee, adults are 17 dollars each, and seniors pay 12 dollars.
They have many different trees and plants, if you pay attention and look close enough. At The Point you have a great view of the Biscayne Bay. Went to Kaseya Center for a Huge Celebration of Life Service, which considering, was a Nice experience.
Apart from the Amazing service of Life presentation, the arena was VERY Clean, the seating ample, the acoustics Great, and the staff friendly. Parking was sufficient for this particular event BUT know from past experiences, parking can be an issue though there is other paid parking across the street and throughout downtown Miami.
